Doctor Who first started in the UK on the 23rd November 1963 and ran continually
until 1989. (There was a test screening of the pilot episode a week previously
in a small area of London but that doesn't count!) Doctor Who continued
in the form of books, stage plays, comics, magazines and audio adventures.
In 1996 a US/UK co-financed telemovie burst onto our screens. It didn't
rate well in the US so a series was never taken up. 2005 and Russell T
Davies got the nod to bring back Doctor Who as a TV series. Woo hoo!

of the Dead

 While
travelling in a bus- the 200 to Victoria - the Doctor and passengers are
suddenly transported to another world.
The Doctor does not have his TARDIS
so has no way of returning. He has to find a way to fix the bus, keep the
band of bus passengers together, and get everyone home, oh and protect
everyone from a ravenous hoard of metallic creatures that want to convert
everything on the planet to sand. The greater risk, of course, is that
the wormhole has been created by the ravenous bug blatter beasts and their
next stop is Earth.
Thankfully, the dangerous looking Tritovores are actually friends and
give them some help, but the crashed ship holds a deadly secret.
Lady Christina de Souza, an international
jewel thief, becomes his companion for this story. Played by Michelle Ryan.
UNIT makes an appearance as does
Captain Erisa Magambo, last seen in Turn Left.
NB: Gareth Roberts has said he has
taken some ideas from his book The
Highest Science.

The Sarah Jane Adventures:
The Wedding of Sarah Jane
It's finally time for Sarah's timely
wedding. The Doctor has been trying to break through a time block in time
to prevent the wedding at the right time but this time someone else has
time on his hands.
The time manipulating Trickster
returns and in a short space of time he has the Doctor trapped outside
of time. Clyde, Rani and Luke must race against time to help the timelord
to cross into the timestream Sarah and her groom are trapped in, in time
to save her and the entire future timeline of Earth. Is it time for some
artron energy? Only time will tell.
416 The
Waters of Mars

It is the far future. Humans are being taken over by what seems to be
living water, at a base on Mars. Like zombies they are hell-bent on killing
people with water.
There are also some mini robots that look a bit like Wall-E
The story is set many hundreds of years after the Ice Warriors left
Mars or gave it to the humans so there is unlikely to be any Ice Warriors
in it. There may be evidence of Ice Warrior civilisations though.
Confirmed that the Ood sigma scene
in the final episode is either a flashback or a metaphysical journey. The
Doctor is seen wearing the spacesuit he wore in The
Impossible Planet and The
Satan Pit. In any case, Ood Sigma is not on Mars.

It's nostalgia-fest time and, even
though the final episode of season 4 brought everyone back for what seemed
to be the absolute last time, the final 10th Doctor episode is likely to
do that again. Confirmed sightings of the Master, Wilf, Donna, Sylvia with
confirmed attendances of Rose, Jack, Mickey, et al. Rumoured to feature
Sarah Jane Smith, a Slitheen, a host of other aliens and a trial in a massive
vault of aliens from Doctor Who, ala Star Wars. The Judoon are also likely
to be back along with a number of other characters from episodes the 10th
Doctor has been in.
The Doctor joins with the Ood and
experiences bad dreams in the telepathic communications.
This article says that several Hollywood
names have been approached but have turned down the offer to play a major
villain linking the 2 telemovies. Hugh Grant was recently approached to
star as the villain. Confirmed sighting of Timothy Dalton. Is he the new
villain?

that RTD has chosen The End of Time as the title for the final Tennant
story, I'm going to have to change my use of it for the Christmas Special.

2010 Series - Season
5
13 episodes with Matt Smith! David
has confirmed he is leaving in the last Christmas special before 2010 but
RTD says he may appear in another special scheduled for Easter, just before
Season 5 starts. But will he appear for a cameo in the first episode of
Season 5?

older (1000 years old?) 11th Doctor suffering from his loneliness. After
redesigning the console room and choosing the older TARDIS exterior (or
did it just default?) with the original ambulance sticker, he meets up
with Amy who is Scottish and working in London.
502. The Dust of Stars

The Doctor takes Amy on a trip to
see a crashed rocket and is discovered by River Song who has never met
the Doctor before. The Doctor is immediately tense and nervous and has
a lot of difficulty speaking with her, knowing he was there when she died.
503. Scherzo

Time continues to splinter throughout
the universe and the Doctor and companions fall through a crack into another
universe with different rules.
504. Family Reunion

She finds that her symbiotic nucleii allows her access and discovers Time
Lords frozen in time. She finds a way of tracing active Tardii but it leads

Other notes
It's still rumoured that Jennifer
Saunders appears as a temporary Doctor either in the Christmas Special
or the Children in Need special. Remember what happened in the first Christmas
special when the Doctor lost his hand? Well, other things can happen in
that period!
Other notes:
Steven Moffat will be the producer
for this season and has said that, firstly, Billie Piper will definitely
NOT be in any of the seasons. Secondly, he has not discounted River Song
from appearing again and that she knows more than one Doctor. Thirdly,
he doesn't plan to bring back any old monsters unless there is a really
good story, and that goes for cameos, too. And fourthly, season 5 will
be much darker.
