What we know:
From 2012 The Doctor Who series will start every year around the beginning of winter. Amy and Rory will leave around mid season and the Doctor will get a new companion. In the Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe, the Doctor was encouraged to search out his friends. He went to see Amy and Rory. As he needs to keep a low profile, he might as well go and meet some other old friends. The 2012 and 2013 series will be recognising the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who so it's expected that actors and actresses who are still alive, available and willing, from the past 50 years of the show, will make an appearance. Rumoured appearances by Wendy Padbury, Frazer Hines, Russel Enoch (William Russel), Caroline John, Katy Manning, Louise Jamieson and a number of other actors and actresses still working in the industry. To celebrate the 50th anniversary in style, the episode to be broadcast on the 23rd November 2013 will not only feature just about every monster that ever appeared in Doctor Who in some form, as well as perhaps some past Doctors and companions, be the longest ever single episode in the history of Doctor Who (longer than the telemovie) but will also feature the revealing of the Doctor's real name.
