Patrick was the Doctor for 2 years 7 months. The next few records will be beaten in quick succession. Colin Baker (6th Doc) 2 years 9 months. William Hartnell (1st Doctor) 2 years 11 months. Peter Davison (5th Doc) 3 years. After that he needs to stay the Doctor until 2010 to beat Jon Pertwee's (3rd Doc) record (4 years 6 months)
